American homes get their power from a mix of energy sources. Electricity generated from coal, nuclear, oil, natural gas, wind, and solar all goes to the same grid. To keep track of the electricity generated by “green power” sources like solar and wind, the EPA created Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). For power to be officially considered “clean,” it must be matched with RECs. All the electricity CleanChoice Energy customers use is replenished with 100% wind and solar energy.
